Club Events

Hosting events is a great way for your club to engage with students, faculty, and the larger Queen’s and Kingston communities!

Events Tortfeasors

Event Planning

Effective February 1, 2020, for each event, each club/committee/year council and LSS core member must submit the LSS Event Planning Form to the LSS Vice-President Activities and the LSS Vice-President Communications no later than two weeks ahead of the planned event for approval and addition to the Queen's Law Master Events Calendar and the LSS Weekly Newsletter. If your event involves alcohol or athletic activity, you must submit the form at least 3 weeks in advance.

Those who fail to provide their LSS Event Planning Form on time will be denied reimbursement and access to a cash box.

LSS Event Planning Form can be found here.

Event Sanctioning (SGPS)

All law-student-run events must also be sanctioned by the SGPS. The sanctioning form must be submitted at least 2 weeks before your event. For events involving alcohol or athletic activity, students must submit the sanctioning form at least 3 weeks in advance. You can find the sanctioning form here.

Fundraising Opportunities

If your club is looking for fundraising opportunities, Queen’s Event Services is committed to helping students in their fundraising campaigns and will utilize existing retail locations on campus to support student clubs with the proceeds of sales. Clubs can book times to get a percentage of all sales on that day (e.g. authorized vendors have been Beavertails, Tim Hortons, etc.). More information can be found at the Student Event Services Website.

Lounge Bookings

  • If you need to book the law lounge, please scroll down to verify availability, and then email the VP Activities (lssvpactivities@queensu.ca) with your requested date and time.
  • Keep in mind that it is the responsibility of the LSS to maintain the lounge, therefore, event organizers are responsible for cleanup.
